12 food trucks join Duaw Davao Food Bazaar

OF the total 32 food concessioners, 12 food trucks committed to exhibiting local cuisine and promoting local products at Duaw Davao’s Davao Tourismo Arts and Food Trucks Bazaar from June 27 to 30 at the Rizal Park.

According to Duaw Davao event organizer Christopher Ledesma, the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) shared with food owners that Davao is now gearing toward culinary tourism.

“We are also trying to trailblaze because in the near future, we might transform our Roxas Avenue to a different food truck area. Nakalagay diyan puros na food trucks po. It’s elevating also the food industry,” he said during Wednesday’s Habi at Kape on June 26.

He also said that there were challenges gathering food vendors or owners because of the different concentrations in terms of doing food business in Davao City.

The event will be a unique fusion between arts and culinary delights serving as a platform to feature paintings by local artists and a variety of gourmet street foods of Davao City. The food vendors will also sell local products such as coffee, milk tea, and others.

“It’s all locally made by our local partners or local business owners for food or food owners,” he said.

Duaw Davao partnered with the Dabawenyo Artist Federation Inc. (DAFI) and Museo Dabawenyo for the Davao Tourismo Arts and Food Trucks Bazaar to also feature an art exhibit and sculptures for locals and visitors outside of Davao City to witness. 96 paintings of DAFI and 16 to 20 sculptors of Museo Dabaw will be highlighted at the event.
