THE 10TH Infantry Division (10ID) reported that 326 personnel tested negative in a recent drug test conducted on January 2, 2025.
Major Ruben Gadut, chief of the 10ID Public Affairs Office, confirmed this on Thursday afternoon.
“We conducted drug testing on Jan. 2, 2025, and out of 326 personnel tested, none tested positive,” Gadut said in Filipino.
“A good start to 2025,” he added.
The test was conducted within the division headquarters and facilitated by the 10ID Station Hospital, according to Gadut.
The 10ID actively supports the Philippine Army’s Anti-Narcotics Program by mandating drug testing for all personnel seeking promotion, schooling, or reenlistment.
This proactive measure underscores the 10ID’s commitment to maintaining a drug-free environment and upholding the highest standards of integrity and discipline.
In 2024, 28 personnel tested positive for drugs, 17 of whom were regular military personnel and the rest were members of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu).
Gadut explained that eight soldiers were immediately discharged from the service, while 13 were awaiting discharge orders.
He added that the seven Cafgu members’ terms of service had already been terminated, which is equivalent to discharge for regular troops.
