10th ID neutralizes 182 NPA members in Davao Region since January 2024

THE 10TH Infantry Division (10th ID) has doubled its efforts to prevent NPA remnants and other threat groups from entering the region.

Moreover, the operation resulted in the neutralization of 182 members of the communist-terrorist group-New People’s Army (CTG-NPA) in Davao Region since January 2024.

10th ID spokesperson Major Ruben Gadut said the success stemmed from the 10th ID’s relentless pursuit of the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC) remnants while maintaining a “no guard down” approach.

Gadut said the division is steadfast in its mission to locate the remaining members of the dismantled guerilla fronts under SMRC and prevent the infiltration of neighboring threat groups, such as the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC) and North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC).

“Through coordinated military operations and collaboration with various stakeholders, we aim to thwart CTG recovery efforts and combat any form of terroristic acts that may jeopardize our region’s stability,” he said.

For this week alone,  the Army conducted 48 combat operations resulting in the capture and surrender of three NPA members and the confiscation of three firearms. Simultaneously, soldiers also conducted checkpoints, regular combat patrols, localized peace engagements, deployment of community development teams (advancement of established people’s organization), mobile community support and sustainment teams, and civil-military operation activities in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs).

Since January this year, troops also recovered 65 assorted firearms and 17 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) known as “anti-personnel mines.”

“As we continue to reap the benefits of an Insurgency-free Davao region let us unite in safeguarding this peace and ensuring that it endures for generations to come. Together we can preserve the harmony and prosperity of our beloved region,” he further said.
