THE 10TH Infantry Division officially activated its Election Duty Battalion (Provisional) at Agila Hall, Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr., Mawab, Davao de Oro, on May 5, 2025, in preparation for the upcoming 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE).

Major General Allan Hambala, 10th ID commander, and Atty. Gay Enumerables, assistant regional director of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) XI, presided over the activation ceremony.

The primary objective of the EDBn (P) is to ensure the safe, secure, fair, and free conduct of the May 12, 2025, national and local elections within the 10th ID’s joint operational area.

The battalion comprises four companies and one reserve platoon of officers and enlisted personnel from the 10th ID, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Ricky Dioneda.

In his remarks, Hambala stressed the importance of non-partisanship, restraint, respect for human rights, and close coordination with Comelec and other relevant agencies.

“Your mission extends beyond safeguarding the ballot to protecting the very principle underpinning our democratic system: the people’s right to choose freely and without fear,” Hambala emphasized.

Enumerables echoed the Comelec’s commitment to collaborate with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police.

She added, “Sama-sama nating harapin ang mga hamon ng parating na halalan. Matatag, matapat, at may malasakit para sa bayan (Let’s face the challenges of the upcoming election together. Strong, honest, and with compassion for the country).”

Before deployment, Comelec XI conducted a one-day seminar for EDBn (P) personnel, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and understanding for their election duties.
