THE 10TH Infantry (Agila) Division held its first-ever Female Agila Patrol (AGPAT) Challenge from July 3 to 6, 2024, at the 10th Division Training School, bolstering its female soldiers’ combat readiness and skills.
Fourteen all-female infantry squads from various battalions within the 10ID participated in the intensive four-day competition.
Major Ruben Gadut, the 10th Infantry Division Public Affairs Office chief said the event tested the soldiers’ proficiency in a wide array of military skills, including troop leading procedures, mountain search and rescue, tactical combat casualty care, IED detection, knot-tying, marksmanship, battle drills, map reading, land navigation, patrol base operations, signal communication, urban warfare tactics, and other essential combat proficiencies. 
“This challenge embodies our commitment to gender inclusivity and equality within the armed forces,” said Major General Allan Hambala, 10ID commander, in a speech delivered by Brigadier General Febie Lamerez, the 10ID assistant division commander.
“We aim to empower our female soldiers, enhance their capabilities, and foster a more equitable society for all, ” Brig Gen Lamerez said.
The AGPAT Challenge not only showcased the determination and resilience of the participating female soldiers but also served as a testament to the 10ID’s dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive military force.
