THE CITY government program has initially benefited about 100 vendors who received cash assistance.
Based on the report of the City Information Office, the Livelihood Assistance Grant is a city government program in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to help members of the informal sector who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The report said the 100 vendors were among the 2,760 small business owners identified to become beneficiaries of the program.
The turnover of the assistance, a P10,000 in cash, were led by the DSWD Regional Director Raquel Nuñez and lawyer Marlisa Gallo, head of the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
Among the beneficiaries was Ma. Elaine Albutra who operates an online business.
“Dako jud ang akong kalipay nga naapil ko sa livelihood assistance grant (LAG) kay karong pahanuna, kinanglan jud namo ug kapital sa among negosyo, although naka-put up naman mi, pero kinahanglan pajud namo ang dugang para additional income, kay kabalo naka sa panahon karon sa pandemic kinahanglan jud karon ang tao maka-income jud bisan ginagmay para naay suporta sa panginahanglanan,” said Albutra in the CIO report.
She said she will use the money as additional capital so she can buy more goods to sell online.
